Subsidies inflate our production costs........THE BIGGEST LIE EVER TOLD!!

Im completely sick of people on here claiming "subsidies just inflate our production costs and it goes to the supply chain", some people seem to naively believe that removing subs will just cut production costs down to a cheap level NO NO NO, these companies supplying us all have production costs and staff minimum wage requirements to fill many go bust already!!!

You also really need to question the logic of a farmer that says lets get rid of subsidies theyre pushing prices up, isn't that only because farmers are making a bit more money?? I don't hear anyone claiming "lets drop grain/cattle/milk prices theyre driving fert and machinery costs up"

many costs such as labour will not change for legal reasons not just on farms but across the chain

Good to see you starting threads again Boss (y)
keeps the bloody idiots that don't understand on there toes ;)
some folk haven't got a clue

your confusing farming (a trade) and land ownership (an investment) ..........again !

I'm not going to explain the difference to you again, do a search for just about any of my previous replies to you about any of you previous posts :ROFLMAO:

yes but tenants get subsidy also, if wheat goes to £200/t and your fert price goes up next year as a result(which it would) will you be calling for wheat prices to be capped next year? it seems the logic of many farmers (owner occupiers included) that subs make us more profitable so costs go up, would they prefer no subs low prices and low costs??????

Sounds like someone still hasn't prepared for the removal of land owners dole ...better get started
some tenants who believe they'll simply pass the sub cut onto their landlord are the ones who should be worried, for every landowner theres a que of overly optimistic tenants, many landowners wont bother renting their farm out if rent is too low, less farms will be available so yous better get buying!

I think mine looks ok, but it's not because of subsidy. I don't see much subsidy money being spent on improving land, and most of the environmental payments seem to do nothing to increase wildlife or look after the environment.
who said anything about improving, if its good enough take the payment put it in the bank and keep quiet
why do some folks have to make such a fuss :scratchhead:

What will happen to that land then?

You contradict yourself, if things are going to be that bad, then there won't be the 'optimistic tenants' that you speak of.
