I think you need to add a box for explaining the answer to the last question; Have you valued your Natural Capital? I put "no" only because I have no idea what that value is yet. I know I can;

reduce nitrates,
phosphates release,
sequester carbon,
impound/slow water,
raise soil organic matter,
reduce soil erosion,
reduce pesticide use,
reduce fertiliser use,
enhance habitats etc.

Using No till, Countryside Stewardship, farmer clusters, conservation, forestry, rural employment, housing, ponds & dams etc.

Other than Wessex Water's Entrade scheme, I am not aware of anything else that actually puts a £ value on it yet. That is to be decided between the demanders of public goods and us as providers. On that basis, I fail to see how anyone can answer "yes" to that question.

How do you get on with the "Catchment sensative farming officers ?.I was told today by one that there was no point applying for the Higher tier scheme ,as he could not find the time to visit me this year.He then went onto tell me that if i wanted to apply for the farm tracks option on the mid tier ,this would need to be signed off by him so i should not bother to apply for mid tier either this year also.I did mention about him having to work 7 days a week as he had so much work to do ,that fell on deaf ears straight away.Some of these people aren"t sharp minded grafters - why, this is easy work. The RPA and Natural England could save money by employing people that are keen to get on ,and double the output,whilst paying the individual more.

The CSF crew around here are pretty good. It sounds like you've got a bad person. I got some tracks on the capital grants scheme to stop sediment reaching a ford on a winter bourne signed off by my local CSF officer who couldn't have been more helpful. I haven't done the work yet, so don't know how the repayments work. I suggest you go to this lazy person's line manager.
