Scanned ours today. 15/15 cows in calf and 24/27 heifers in calf. Happy with that as I knew the other 3 heifers weren’t in calf as they’d all slipped their calves in the last two months.

A friend synced some heifers and only got 50% in calf

That's what I'm budgeting on really.

Bulls would only do 60% first service mind.

I synced 9 cows prid and jabbed them AI x2 and only 1 in calf at about £100/head I’ve gone back to thinking that bulls aren’t that expensive after all

We are very pleased considering we had a few years of nearly 20% empty when we had a bvd issue. We are bvd free now and has made a massive difference

We did our cows last week, 42 to the bull 8 empty, 6 of those went out with the old bull for 6 weeks (he gone now,960kg) then mixed with old and new. Worst of that is 5 of them would have been second calvers this time. Still got 10 heifers to scan but not holding out much hope for them, one bull went out lame (not on our farm, uncle borrows him in winter and the heifers went there and he didn't think he was lame) and the replacement only lasted 4 or 5 weeks before laminitis made him lame. If half of them are in calf that's a bonus.

Charolais on the cows and lim on the heifers.

Not good today 11 out of 90 empty.

About the same as here, 3 out of 31 not in calf who should have been, plus two old codgers who's time was up anyway.

Scanned our spring calvers today, all in calf to our new Limousin bull. Start calving 6 weeks time

Scanned mine last week. 4 out of 38 not in calf. 2 with cysts so been jabbed and one who’s not cycling at all and the last one I’d seen bulling a few days before.

Chuffed here. 52 cows and 14 heifers all in calf. Looking like a busy April by the estimated dates as well.

Had a poor scanning. Vet to come out an blood test cows an full check/test of bull. Gone to twice year bolusing, vaccinate for BVD an Lepto. Just seems the harder I try, the worse it gets.
