Suffolk Pea Festival.

Peasenhall is famous for........ Smythe corn drills and...... Not much else. Oh there is a butcher shop which they say is quite good. Never been there myself. After all it's in darkest East Suffolk, which is different to West Suffolk.

Yeah but it sounds like its big in peas.
I didn't realise that minor Suffolk roads were so like Welsh ones, apart from it being flatter. Nice rolling land round those parts.
I'm happy to welcome all and any to Suffolk, but I'm in the same boat as @Suffolk Serf It's not the major social event of the county - doesn't mean it can't be fun though.
If you go could you give us a report:)

Surely its up near the top of the events calendar? If not, why not? It must rate higher than, for instance, bog snorkeling.
I'm staying at Claydon tonight, aiming for home in the morning. This must be more mid_county. It certainly seems civilized enough.
It is a bigger County than I thought is Suffolk.

Glad it's to your liking. It's not too bad a place. I'm not a proper native so I'm here by choice.

Trouble is you'll whiz home along the A14 and miss the best bits. Drop down to Dedham and pootle along the Stour Valley. Did you get to Southwold or Aldeburgh?

That's the one. I passed through there today and thought it would be fun. Is it worth a 600 mile round trip though?
As it happens I was in Welshpool, Shrewsbury and Market Drayton today. If I'd known I'd have stayed back so I could have invited you for a cuppa and piece of cake. Hope the journey was fruitful for you (y)

Passed through Welshpool and bypassed Shrewsbury between 1and 2pm. Started at 10am and reached waypoint at 5.30 and back here by 8pm. Long day's driving. Had a couple of rest stops though. Enjoyed seeing an area new to me.
Hope to explore it at a less frenetic pace in future.

Just looked down at the speedo and done 475 miles myself

You should come over again. The Suffolk Coast, Aldeburgh, Southwold and Orford is lovely and I always think the countryside between Sudbury, Hadleigh and Bury St Edmunds is lovely
