Morning,

Has anyone bought Sugar beet pulp to feed and AD plant?

I am looking for the contact in British Sugar as we are writing a best practice document for storing it.

Will are you looking to take it wet or dry.
Just been past the Bury site where they are storing an enormous amount of what appears to be Wet pulp bagged or wrapped in plastic appears to be several thousand tonnes.
I was speaking to the man in the summer from BS who knows a lot about it.
Apparently the long term aim is to use waste heat from the digester to dry the pulp.
If you want more I can get his number, but you may, if you just ring the Bury switchboard

Bury is an interesting set up for sure!

Does anyone know if they are 'retailing' the pulp and who it is managing that?

Appreciate your help.

I am not totally sure of the position today, but the pulp used to belong to the grower and BS used to sell it on their behalf for the best price.
I am sure BS would be very happy to talk to you about pulp supplies

Went past the site at bury yesterday and have got to say it's the biggest stack of wrapped bales I've ever seen!

I don't know much about it but for every ton of beet a grower surplies to BS he can buy a ton of Pulp back.

It's said to be very good feed stock for AD as it is for Cattle.
