Sugar beet yields

I sent my contract of in the last day possible and I haven't heard anything from them. Has everyone else had confirmation of "offer to grow".

Perhaps it didn't help that I filled in the NFU/BS survey a week or so ago and I told them a few home truths about how they treat growers and the farce that is Germaines and the monopoly supply of seed.
Same here, could have written the quote word for word!

As if by magic!

Is the price down by much?

It’s gutting seeing nearly our whole first beet remittance money going out for seed!
Not much. Untreated (Xbeet plus and Thiram and Tachigren as used in previous years) varies from 132 to 168. And there are many different combinations of treatments you can add to boost up to about £190. Max price is 203. Not all options are available on all varieties.

I didn't study it indepth but I got the jist that now we've lost neonics, they've added some fancy crap or combination of fancy crap to help the crop(so they say) but ultimately to help them justify a price just as high as when they were applying something that actually worked.

Try several and let us know how you get on. I will be 132 is quite a bit cheaper than anything I bought last year (from memory 18x was the cheapest i bought.......)
