Sumo DTS advice

What settings are people using the rear covering discs on?
I've got mine set on the narrowest width and angled full in.
Was getting some seed on then surface/not covered so have put the seeding leg in about 10mm deeper but been stopped by weather since.
Does the narrow setting on the covering discs pull soil in closer to the back of the leg or would a wider pull gather more soil in?

Drilling in to spring barley stubble, front legs are 5” below seeding coulter doing around 10k. @SteveE @Wheatland @R J @green giant
I'll see what mine are set at tomorrow , never thought about adjusting them since it arrived

Sorry to jump on somebody’s thread but I’m considering a dts drill and I’m wondering if any has or is it possible to put some form of wing point on the leading leg. I’m not thinking a massive wing but something similar to a gls point/wing.

From my observations locally a Mzuri takes a lot more pulling largely due to the winged leg. Otherwise a nicely made and well supported product. I have had a DTS for 6 years.

How was the muzuri better than the sumo ?
Cheers
Trash flow, simplicity, build quality, leading tine all much better.
DTS left a better finish, but some paddles or a double harrow would sort that out.
Guess which pic is from which drill_ Both pics are a spade into the row, showing what turned up. Adjacent fields, drilled two days apart

Go slow, don't use it in the wet. Or late season. Or on heavy clay. It's not a magic bullet.
Did some after beet , field has light bits , some real snot heavy ,and some sticky lime stone ,and a patch of white clay shite , half was shakerator and combi , that half bit was 2 weeks ,before dts half and went in well ,dts bit 😬😬 will see how it comes , be a good test , did around 10 k to get a bit of soil movement ,
they block easy ,🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ Between legs ,

Hi my friends. In 2021 I have buy a sumo dts4 in Lithuania. The drill when I start to the seed cover crops and OSR i was very happy because my tractor (jd 6150M+ chiptunning) was to small for 4metres. Bet tractor pull this seeder to 7km/h in heavy clay and 9-10km/h normal land.
A little story to my farm and sumo dts OSR Winter barley WInter WHeat
