Sunflowers and Kerb ?

I have a 12m headland about 200m long in a winter OSR field where due to water etc there is only really half a crop

I'm thinking of planting a 12m strip of sunflowers that I could harvest to get enough seed for use in future cover crops. It's also near my house so will look pretty !

Trouble is that headland will have had kerb back in early December - will it kill the sunflowers or am I ok ?

Dow label says wait 40 weeks and (sorry) plough (cough). I'd have thought either would suit, not necessarily both. On the other hand it's in the 'any other crop' section which means they don't know.

Cover it in FYM and plough it nice and deep and you should get a good crop !!

Isn’t that just a label thing? I think sunflowers are in the same family as lettuce which needs 0 weeks after application of Kerb.

As suggested above, Sunflowers are not on the Kerb label in the UK (either as a target crop or succeeding crop), and sunflowers are grown a lot in France.
I can't find a pdf label for Kerb in France, but they are listed as a target crop on the product page- http://www.dowagro.com/fr-fr/france/produits/herbicides/kerb-flo, and the following distributor leaflet gives a bit more detail, saying it should be applied before cultivation- http://www.lbagri.fr/client/document/kerbflow_51.pdf

Therefore, I would cultivate and crack-on
