Sunny Tripower issue

1 of our 5 inverters keeps kicking out and not restarting. We’ve recently had a complete system health check due to this issue. All cabling in the inverters been checked. They went up on the roof and checked the panels related to this inverter and replaced a couple of inline cables which were very slightly rubbed from installation we think. They used the Sunny software to log into all the inverters but there’s no error messages so we are at a loss with this. We can’t connect it to weather conditions so it’s not water ingress either. Any ideas please?

Could be many things
Varistors, but most likely firmware issue.

Don’t waste your time trying to fix it out of warranty. Buy a new inverter and get extended warranty.

New sma are completely stripped down to save money so comms won’t work unless you get a piggyback. The problem is that all the inverters will not sync into comms you’d need to upgrade them all. The new receiver is hard wired and I expect (know) your existing are Bluetooth.

Just buy a new brand like Solis 4g and start the transition over with extended warranty. Sma are too expensive for what you get.

have you checked the grid voltage, this might be the cause, you do not get a fault code with high voltage it just stops producing, until it is within the g83-g59 guide lines.

Not overly knowledged on this but my experience with SMA and there inverters has been very old fashioned "ENGLISH" spoke to me on the phone, instant replaced, no problem "Sir" didnt even have to pay for the postage.

yes they are very good with replacements but they do require a detailed diagnosis of the fault including the voltages from an approved installer.
