Super faun potato harvester

We have just bought a super faun potato harvester ( haven’t got it home yet so don’t even have a photo to post)
It seems to have been well looked after and always dry stored by a small scale grower who would have been an owner operator set up. It’s had new bearings in the gear box and looks to be all complete. It comes with a side elevator and a front mounted stand to set a box on.
We are completely new to this type of machine and know very little about it.
Any tips on using it and the running of it? We plan to put on a Case 1394.

Just set depth wheel and away you go,no setting really apart from a few revs. Used one for donkeys years

Keep the chains well oiled and make sure the guides for the webs are turned to a fresh bit to keep them in line Wilson engineering near ballymoney has all the spares you'll ever need

About 250 to 350 depending on conditions and how many people

Watch the bearings on the drive shafts for webs they where never a tight fit on the one we had from new ended up getting new ones made

Buy plenty ibuprofen for when the tops get stuck everywhere

On a 1394 I'd think you will be in ll1 or ll2 most of the time speed wise. Used to have one on a db 1210

And keep your hands away from the 2 rollers, remember a lad getting pulled in to the shoulder.

Then the trash chute blocks and the trash goes onto the elevator with the spuds

Our neighbour used to use one on an IH 574. I used to help out sometimes and think he ran it in 1st low high TA at at about 850 rpm if that's any help.
