Surreal feeling

Ah, I see, you're one of those who think disabled people are as they are because they deserve it in some way. No, I don't hate your 'God', anymore than I hate hobgoblins or vampires, none being real. I do hate the lies and false hopes and the preying on the vulnerable of religionists though, very much.

What a bl**dy stupid question; if you believe your sky-pixie to be the omnipotent 'creator', all of them. :banghead:

Hadn't realised you were barking before today. My wife wasn't 'given' or sold to me by anyone. We married each other freely, in a Civil ceremony. Nice attempt at personal digs that, very Christian. (y) :ROFLMAO:

Before stating crap you need to read up and do your homework; my posts on this matter are all hopeful, becasue they are based on rational science, not the surrendering of my critical faculties. I don't seek to deny anyone a good feeling, but I don't want people kidding themselves or - more importantly - others, that whispering and moaning to something fictitious and supernatural is going to fix the current problem, it never has and won't now. Your problem is that you don't like your absurd fantasies challenged, because it makes you uncomfortable and shows you up for being a bunch of bl**dy fools.

I didn't raise the subject of religion or faith in this thread, merely responded to it. If you think that it's wrong to comment against others in a thread like this, why have you criticised me? Or is it OK, providing it doesn't go against what you like?
In your opinion, your posts are helpful, but you have to realize that not everyone shares your opinion. That is what my argument is, the point which you apparently missed. And by now, you should be realizing that not everyone shares your opinion.

No they won't, not because of the virus. Some will for other reasons, like being wasters who expect others to do everything for them and, of course, they'll seek to transfer responsibility for their difficulties from themselves to the virus.

We know you do your best to see the worst in everything the 'nasty' Tory government does, but if the TUC and friends are happy that the correct measure are being put in place (having helped work them out), even you should be. But that wouldn't sit right, would it, stirring up unnecessary fears in the hope of your socialist revolution is far more important.

Disgusting.

Away with that sh!te, the 'Bible' also tells us we can sell our daughters into slavery, Exodus 21, 7. And Exodus 35, 2 says we should execute people who work on Sundays. That absurd 'holy' book also tells us that we aren't allowed to plant different crops next each other and we can burn our mothers for wearing a cotton / wool mix in their clothes. But all that is ignored or we are told it is 'taken out of context'. These are Bronze Age superstitions, the bible and its equivalents tell us nothing that people from those times didn't know, there are no 'revelations' or divine insights from beyond or 'above' those times. They simply reflect the barbarity and ignorance of those times.

Not eating bats is just common sense, like not enslaving people; the bible is against one and advocates the other. Wisdom has to be consistent to be credible.(y)

And now the religionists will sulk and start bitching that their pet superstitions have been questioned, again. Rather than ask themselves why their benign and loving Master has created this problem.

@Macksy I understand your belief only too well, which is why I haven't fallen for it. I was waiting for a come-back on 'sin'. Remind us all why little children should suffer horrific deaths won't you? After all, your 'God' could stop them all as quick as thinking. But there's a get-out isn't there? We've heard it all before, the good news is your fairy stories fool fewer and fewer each year. Snake oil. :yuck:

People WILL lose their homes because of Corona virus.Good and sound businesses just getting going with hard working people. Many will have remortgaged their homes to get working capital.Anything in the tourism and leisure industry. We have borrowed considerable money to get our holiday cottages going, just starting our 2nd year.We had a good first year. This year, cancellations and near zero bookings! Its my wife i feel sorriest for,she has put a hell of alot of work into it. I'll ignore the first bit because it deserves it.

As for the second bit, we have holiday lets too, no cancellations yet, but I think it unlikely any will come in the foreseeable future - and I don't think we want them to now. A friend has too, and he borrowed to get his up and running last year - bl**dy hell, it can't be you, can it? :woot: - and his understanding is that there will be a 'holiday' on repayments, with no interest charged for the duration of the problem; he's with Barclays. I, genuinely, hope that is of some help to you. (y)

Eh?? What are you talking about? Who was doing the torturing? Have a think about it for more than 25s.
I was referring to the innocent victims being caused pain (to torture) and ultimately death by hunger, by disease, and by war, and their families having to witness that. All things that an omnipotent and merciful god could and should prevent. The guilty deserve to be punished, but not the innocent. Where are the thunderbolts? Why is evil not struck down? If there is a god he/she/it isn't much good at "godding" . Like I said we will have to disagree.

There are some who are very quick to blame God for creating or allowing every war, famine, pestilence, death, etc. However, they never blame man, who carries it out.

God is not the author of sin (which causes war, famine, pestilence, death, etc). It was man that sinned. There are times when God permits things (read Job chapter 1) and time when he directly sends things. In both cases it is either for the testing of His people or for the punishment of sin.

The nations of the world, and certainly the UK, have turned their back on God. They call evil good and good evil. They legislate for sin and encourage it on every hand. Is it little wonder that now and again God speak to see if any will listen and turn from their wicked ways? It is good to see from this thread that some are considering venturing into a church again after and absence of many years.

For those who cannot get out to church, or who just want to see what the church has to say, then there are many churches now putting their services online.

www.ballymenafpc.org - Services available via their web site home page or facebook page - Sunday 10.15am; 11.30am and 6.30pm. Also Tuesday evening at 8pm. Soon they will also do a daily 15 minute slot - start dates and times to be arranged.

Cannot quite believe what I’m reading, surely there’s more pressing matters than back and forth over who’s right and wrong over religion? If it brings you hope and keeps you sane right now then crack on but you cannot throw scriptures at an obviously and outwardly non religious man no good will come of any situations such as this. Can we all virtual hug and in the hope of both good will to all men and loving thy neighbour put this off? Consider yourselves lucky if no Coronavirus was around arguments like these should usually be settled by MR T making you bare chest hug for 30 seconds ???

I'm sorry to read that; my chums paid for their development with part of a business loan. Barclays... I fell out with Barclays a few years ago and transferred to Lloyds, they are better but still far from perfect.

There should be an announcement about financial help for the self-employed in the coming days. I don't know where you are, but it will be UK centrally funded, and then administered by the devolved nations and, probably, by the English regions. I hope that goes some way to settle you.
