Sustainable farming incentive scheme

Can someone please give me a quick idiots guide to this and how it all fits together?

Is it to be run in conjunction with elms is it a replacement until elms comes on board?

When looking at it can you stack the option i.e. can we claim both the arable land standard AND the arable soil standard? Is this the same with the grassland options?

Thanks

The Sustainable Farming incentive is the first pilot of the ELMS scheme, and to me looks like it will be the main replacement for BPS. It has three tiers (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced) all with different requirements and payment levels. You are able to stack options, so on our arable ground we will hopefully be able to implement the Arable land Standard, Arable Soil Standard as well as having the Waterbody Buffering Standard and Hedgerow Standard around the edge of the fields. I haven't really looked into grass so am not too sure how it will work with that, but imagine similar rules would apply. At the moment the catch seems to be that you are only eligible to apply to be a pilot farm if you are not in another countryside stewardship scheme.
I would imagine that pilot schemes for the Local Nature Recovery and Landscape recovery, which make up the other two components of ELMS will come out within the year, but that is just a guess.
