Pair of house martins arrived and checking the state of last year's nests. (Going to need a few repairs doing but there's no shortage of mud!))

Not seen any swallows yet but heard a cuckoo this morning

I haven't heard a cuckoo for years!
Swallows are usually here by now but this year no sign of them yet.

Saw the first local pair over Goswick sands (south of Berwick) winging their way over the dunes last weekend (15th April), but they weren't stopping.

1st one here last Thursday (19th April), swooping over the yard on the 1st day of the warm spell. Heart warming.

Two weeks on and still nothing sighted ,sparrows have commenced nest building in the past couple of days.
