Just seen the first Swallow sitting on the power line outside of our house.
The earliest we have ever recorded.
Always a pleasing sight, especially as we turned out 70 cattle today as well!

A "Juvenile" weighing some 300+kgs and already the "size of a bull"

Sadly we don't get our swallows until weeks after the East of England

Crickey, I remember seeing them by April 1st in Herts some years, but we get ours here even later then Rick sometimes.

One swallow doesn't make a summer........... and you need to see two before you turn cattle out !

They are supposed to prefer short hops over water and to follow coast and rivers, how do they get to you without us seeing them?

First swallow seen here in west wales yesterday. The earliest I have ever seen one. Saw one in the 31st of March about 25 years ago.

I saw a Kingfisher last weekend, which I'm told is rare sight around here.

Last time I saw one is above 30 years ago on the Norfolk Broads.
