Swallows 2021

All the swallows have now left to be replaced by hoards of starlings.
The swallows must know the weather is changing. Desperate for rain here as ground like concrete and streams dried up. Had no real rain for months.

Still some here! I didn't expect to see them today.

All lined up on the electric cables Sat. morning. Not seen any since.

5 or more short tailed ones here this morning. Imagine they have just hatched.

I was moving lambs to some new grazing this afternoon and there must have been 100 swallows bombing about in the sunshine.

Never seen so many in my life- they must have summered well!
Doubt they’ll be with us much longer though.

3 swallows over North Essex this afternoon, couldn't see how old.

Literally saw them for less than a minute.

Must have been 150 plus at one stage. Ready feeding for the jump over the channel.

Same here over the weekend, 1 lone swallow over some sheep yesterday that's all since..

Don't think there will be many residents left now, they will be on the move for sure.

Yes, certainly in the yard they have all gone a while ago but just noticed these today when out looking at ground

Report of swallows being seen locally, if true it is quite early. Nobody else spotted them yet?
