Swapping 7 pin wiring for 13 pin

i Am thinking of putting 13pin on to the tractors as I feel it is a better plug though was also woundering what is the lorry trailer plugs like

I use the truck type much stronger and more reliable

Is this a new thing I usually stand and watch while its tested .they have never even looked at the socket.however i took it last month and because of coved had to leave it wit them.

No. It been part of the mot test for a good few years. My interest is that I wired my own 7 pin socket myself.
I just wired, stop, tail, indicators and earth.

i just cut the 13 pin plug off my ifor and wired a 7 pin on using a wiring diagram. its been faultless since . 10 minuet job

Pretty certain on toyotas the 7 pin wiring is connected to rear lights on truck by just pulling a plug apart and plugging in another plug inline for trailer lights

Goes along the bed & into the cabin and into a connector, behind the passenger footwell scuff panel

when using a 13 pin set up do people find that the pins are more easily damaged ? was speaking to some one who looked after a fleet of estate vechiles and since fitting 13pin plugs found there was more damage with people not lining up the pins propery before pushing in.

Impossible as there is a slot that needs to be lined up and then you twist/screw the connector in.
