Wiltshire Police’s rural crime team is appealing for information after criminal damage to crops in a field just outside Swindon, in the Blunsdon area.
Yesterday (Wednesday, August 7), a vehicle was found abandoned having caused considerable damage to crops.
The rural crime team said the cost of the damage is unknown at this time.
The vehicle had no insurance and previous keeper details only. It was seized accordingly.
“These types of crimes have a considerable financial impact on the farmer during a challenging summer due to the weather,” Wiltshire Police’s rural crime team said.
“Rural crime team would ask anyone who may have information about the damage caused to please come forward and contact Wiltshire Police.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police online or by calling 101 quoting Log 66-07/08/2024.

Dorset Police’s rural crime team has said criminal damage to crops in a field in East Dorset has had a “significant financial impact” on the farmer.
The force is appealing for information after it was discovered that damage had been caused to crops in a field near to Shapwick, East Dorset.
The estimated cost of the damage is around £2,000.
PC Kate Schofield, of the rural crime team, said: “This has had a significant financial impact on the farmer during a challenging summer due to the weather.
