It s not even rtrump fault, supporting Saudia Arabia and Israel unconditionally has been USA UK policy forever, he s just following their 'norm'. They are all gagging for Iran really.

The Yemen war is caused by Iranian interference, who are of course the main backers of Assad.
All the wars in this part of the world are caused by clashes within the Islamic cultures.

You forgot to mention the Saudis who have been pushing the Sunni fundamentalist cause and appropriating land in the Yemen for the last 100 years.

I am not sure how land re distribution is blamed on the Saudis. Certainly it has been going on for some time but is an internal matter. There are huge problems in this area mainly due to a gross shortage and an even greater shortage of water

I certainly would not say that the Saudis have clean hands in this war, but they are very scared of the Iranian backed rebels who inspired this dreadful conflict.

Does any poster believe that any middle eastern country and its rulers, whatever their religion, have any interest in having peace in the region?

So far as I know the area has been permanently at war since "time immemorial". It is their way of life - be at war with all and sundry.

Do any of you have any hope that you could, given an absolute supreme being status (which is what most of their fighting is about) , could achieve peace for any more than a couple of years?

You can blame the problems in the middle east on 101 different things but the "west" has had a major role in fueling the war. People will never wake up.
