T0

Know it's miles early. What's he collectives thoughts now CTL has passed on. Is Iodus (Laminarin?) any use on Septoria and Mildew (plenty of peatground) or is it a case of Folpet with fingers firmly crossed? In the West so Septoria is the main target.

A lot are saying use folpet for anti resistance although it brings very little to the party. Apparently there is already some pressure on revystar before it has even been used

It seems a long time ago now, but when I started farming I only used a T3 and my yields weren’t much less than they are now with a four fungicide program. My agronomist always tells me that fungicides provide the best return on investment of all my inputs...
The whole situation is ludicrous. We are running faster and faster to try and keep on the treadmill but it’s failing.
when you think about it the whole way we do agronomy and ‘crop protection’ it is just so stupid and counter productive.

Distribution?
Encouragement to spend plenty?
Arguably incorrect.
Just my personal view!

Thread drift but I also started thinking about other costs. My tractor fleet was two 85hp Cases and a 70hp Fiat. I ran a 4m falcon drill that I bought for £400 and a £5k combine. No wonder farming seemed more profitable then.

Simply from my variety choices in autumn 2019 I am sure teb will be required on some of our wheat. I hope some varieties won’t need it. TBF now the tide has gone out our wheat looks better than it has any right to. As for revystar, I doubt the extra cost will be justified over here, especially in a dry season.

Actually I think we are going the opposite way in some ways. As our options are becoming more limited

From my perspective with a septoria hat on and CTL gone and the fact that T0 has very little yield advantages the simple and obvious solution is to drop it unless you are feeling workative and want to spend some money.

T1 and T2 - we are strongly encouraged not to use an SDHI at T1 from a stewardship point of view but short of having some expoxiconazole in the shed I won't really have much choice.

So I don't know if it is a treadmill or is it just getting simpler from a lack of options.

ie 3 spray programme. Something like Ascra T1, Revystar T2, Proline T3. Simple. Not sure if I can keep it under £90/ha though. May drop the Revystar for something cheaper if the sun is shining

I won’t be doing one unless there’s rust in my Firefly
Although we will miss CTL we only put a T0 on because it was cheap / was going through anyway / reduce pressure on T1 *delete as appropriate

Probably do T1 of Elatus era as it’s a good rust product, T2 of Ascra / Revystar depending on pricing and a T3 of Azoxy + teb
Firefly and Elicit

Now we've lost ctl it does make you wonder how much was actually applied because it needed to be or weather it was applied because that's what we'd be told and conditioned to do.

It's gone yet the NIAB strategies aren't really that much different just missing the plus CTL at every timing.

This would all be completely irrelevant if you are in the West but for the east azoles and the cheaper sdhi's are ample. imo
