thoughts? In Suffolk we have only had a couple mm rain in the last month.
Personally we have good disease resistance varieties. Can’t find any disease present.
Didn’t get a T0 either.
If it doesn’t rain do we need to put fungicides on?

Big opportunity to save money this year so far

No t0 and currently cold / low disease levels

Sprayer just gone through our wheat for the first time this season with broadway star and nothing else planned yet

Probably not but how quick can you react if things do change.

I can't see any point putting product on if no disease is there but bear in mind septoria has a longish latent period so disease may be there but just not showing and once disease is present most Chems are now mainly protectant with not great curative activity.

As mentioned in the t0 thread I'm doing mine with amistar opti next week because I'm growing jb Diego but hopefully t1 will be azole+ctl and then we'll see what things are like at t2 it may get a sdhi if needs be but it may get another azole+strobe+ctl (assuming no strobe added at t1)

I'll also be playing around with just foliar nutrition again as that worked ok last year but needs more fine tuning.

The main thing is to be flexible and react to what's happening at any given time and being able to react and adapt.

My rough thinking at the mo is £50/ha if using old chem or £75/ha if I include a sdhi at t2.

Ps we has 10mm in the week and have just had another 7mm today, it's not enough but will keep us going for another week or so.

No pgrs? We did go through with pgr and some nutrition, left the fungicide out of it though

Epoxi + CTL on Skyfall and Elicit with no T0.

RGT Gravity will probably get a T0 of CTL this week (I’ll probably also chuck in a dash of CCC to keep @ollie989898 happy and for my peace of mind :) as it’s a second wheat and some volunteers have increased the plant population in places.) This may get an SDHI in the T1 mix when the time comes.

Leaf 3 is worth protecting and you can’t protect it once it’s infected.

Half my wheat has had a T0 , 8-9 days ago, and the amount of YR a bit of cypro has scorched out of Kerrin is surprising (typically leaf 5 and older). Gravity, Elicit, etc much cleaner / clean.

Weather here more ajd Suffolk than Robbie Norfolk

Getting dry here in Essex, only 2mm in last three weeks IIRC.

I have identified Yellow Rust in the following varieties, varying levels, South Lincolnshire and Fens. So the main Yellow Rust area. Leaf 5, up on leaf 4 Reflection and Cochise. Foci with some varieties, just odd leaves others.

Gravity, Kerrin, Reflection, Cochise, Skyfall, Dunston, Graham, Gleam, Bennington, Shabras, Grafton, Leeds, Santiago, Spotlight,

Try that low input in the south west & you'll lose half your yield. 4 days of septoria rain splash event in the last week & more predicted for mid week too. T0s going on now as leaf 4 is only just out. T1 will be CTL, a good dose of triazoles & I'll vary the amount of SDHI according to the weather. Doses tweaked according to what I see and varietal resistance.

How do you think you’ll react to the loss of CTL and reduced triazole armory in the SW?

I'll choose more resistant varieties & watch the TAG trials results on folpet & mancozeb. I'm also interested in soil & plant health, though the hard bit is the little & often N doses that don't give the plant lush disease susceptible growth.

As an aside, the healthiest osr plants I've ever seen this year are in the verges of a main road where a fibre cable was installed last summer. No visible disease, flea beetle damage and no applied N other than what has been emitted from the passing vehicles... :scratchhead:

Yes those OSR plants in the verges are waving at us and mocking us up and down the country!
