Probably not but how quick can you react if things do change.

I can't see any point putting product on if no disease is there but bear in mind septoria has a longish latent period so disease may be there but just not showing and once disease is present most Chems are now mainly protectant with not great curative activity.

As mentioned in the t0 thread I'm doing mine with amistar opti next week because I'm growing jb Diego but hopefully t1 will be azole+ctl and then we'll see what things are like at t2 it may get a sdhi if needs be but it may get another azole+strobe+ctl (assuming no strobe added at t1)

I'll also be playing around with just foliar nutrition again as that worked ok last year but needs more fine tuning.

The main thing is to be flexible and react to what's happening at any given time and being able to react and adapt.

My rough thinking at the mo is £50/ha if using old chem or £75/ha if I include a sdhi at t2.

Ps we has 10mm in the week and have just had another 7mm today, it's not enough but will keep us going for another week or so.

Also independent trials showing that curativity is significantly reduced.

We are planning epoxi plus CTL at T1. Whilst I accept not all souls can support top yields on sites where yields of 10 plus t/ha are achievable not protecting the top 3 leaves is a false economy. UK weather is too unpredictable to ignore sensible practice IMO.

T0 only just gone on here over the weekend. I could find an element of rust in most of our varieties (Gleam, Gratham, Gravity and Skyscraper) other than Costello. So have stuck 100g of Teb in with PGR's. If still dry a T1 we will do something I'm sure, but very cheap.

Nitrous oxide exhaust emissions too IMHO. I suspect that the seed blew off grain trailers on the road at harvest early last July, so will have had a good early start.

Brome yes but its our only herbicide on wheat so pretty much everything else as well - its s pretty cost effective and simple approach I think

I was just asking dad about fungicide regeimes 15-20 years ago. He said he did 3 sprays but it costs very little and worked. He said yields havnt really gone up. Why is research time being spent by the likes of Yen on ridiculous 6 spray programs and these extreme questionable incredibly marginal gains? I can’t help but think this whole route is a dead end and we need to re-think how we manage these crops.

If you've got BLW and oats to tidy up Broadway star is well priced when compared to a su plus topik type approach and will nobble any sneaky bromes lurking anywhere.
