Having had no rain at all, how quickly will it spread up the plant? It's 1 Nov drilled Gleam if that helps.
I dont think it will. As far as I'm aware chems will travel up the leaf towards the tip but not down the leaf to then move up the stem.Having had no rain at all, how quickly will it spread up the plant? It's 1 Nov drilled Gleam if that helps.
An option could have been to go with something cheap and cheerful like teb plus ctl to get some protection onto what was there and then go back after the rain when leaf 3 is right out and top it up or if your brave and the crop is clean wait for leaf 2 and top them both up with a T1.5.I wanted to do all my T1s monday but quite a bit wasn't as ready as I had thought so I left it reluctantly.

Thats what I've done on some late december drilling after beet. The total combined T1 and T1.5 wont cost a lot more than a decent t1 and I have piece of mind if this weather continues for a couple of weeks.
I think he means the septoria ?As in taken down to the node then back up new growth? I didn’t know that was actually possible.

a wet few days wont make a septoria epidemic, especially on gleam
but be prepared for the headlines in the fw

Yeah our T0 went on last week on September drilled wheats, N2 today so T1 in a fortnight ish.Blimey our gleam is barely T0 yet well tues when I last sampled it. Going with some ctl monday due to forecast.
I spent Monday morning with plants all over the kitchen table dissecting like mad. Convinced myself that getting the fertiliser on was more important. Not sure whether that was right now. I hate the T1 timing. I always feel I've screwed it up slightly. In hindsight I should have pressed on faster with the rape when the rain appeared and then started with the earlier with the first T1 wheats.
Don't worry about it. If you were writing for the famers weekly then you'd go mental but I'm sure you will have an opportunity in the next 10 days to get something on. If you feel its suboptimal conditions just try and whack some CTL on in between.
In field conditions are so different and variable. Just get it on when you can but lets be honest its been a particularly low pressure year til yesterday it won't magic into chaos straight away. Your flag leaf is still the boy and remember T timings are only an invention in the great scheme of things
Well I went over to main farm to get the sprayer and go spraying. Then realised I'd be up until 1am doing it and it wasn't practical to do half the acreage as it's a long way from base, so gave up and came home again! Let's hope you're right.
The first choiceSo finally will have a chance to do the last of the T1 on Gleam that is probably 4 days late after 20mm of rain. Do I do 1l CTL and 0.75l of Ascra. Or ditch the CTL and do 0.87 l/ha Ascra (i.e. put the CTL cost into Ascra) for more eradicant activity?
Today you found a window to apply? So finally will have a chance to do the last of the T1 on Gleam that is probably 4 days late after 20mm of rain. Do I do 1l CTL and 0.75l of Ascra. Or ditch the CTL and do 0.87 l/ha Ascra (i.e. put the CTL cost into Ascra) for more eradicant activity?
When was that drilled (Extase)Flag leaves fully out on Extase locally. I walked some October sown Graham this evening and the flag is 1/4 out.
