T2 Wheat Spray

Out of interest, people who are applying these massive T2 sprays, do you intend a T3?
Surely your overspending at t2 if you're going to cover it again with a t3 such as proline or kestrel or similar.
If you're expecting the t2 to keep it clean til harvest then fair enough.

T3 of 0.35 Proline + 0.35 Toledo on order, to be applied at mid flowering 3 weeks post T2. That's around £20/ha for 96g of PTZ and 151g of teb, equivalent to 0.75 Prosaro with a top up of teb.

T3 is to cover ear diseases which even the heaviest T2 won't do. T2 is to cover the flag leaf which T3 sprays won't do (alone). 2012 showed ear diseases can reduce yield more than foliar diseases but unfortunately they need treating separately..

Litre of Aviator plus some teb tomorrow. Ear is just out. Shut the gate until harvest/ pre harvest roundup

@Fromebridge i know T3 controls ear disease. What people forget is that it also controls foliage disease.
If, like @Brisel, you are going to apply a decent PTZ/Teb dose, then the T2 didn't need to be so robust?

I wouldn't call 0.35 Proline particularly robust. That's half the dose of PTZ of a litre of Aviator. It's just a top up for late season disease, both foliar and ear, prolonging the big spend on the flag leaf.

Agree, but then the only reason for a robust T2 is to get eradicant activity which many crops have needed this time. If T2 went on to an uninfected flag leaf I agree a lower dose can be applied knowing it will be topped up soon after.

When we put the 3rd spray on it will be a cheapo again so we will be around £30/ha total fungicide spend for the 5th year running.

I'm going to end up at about £55/ha I think if we do a t3 - for a programm with SDHI considering the quality / robustness of the t2 I reckon that's fair value and £30/ha less than last year

Proves to me there is no blueprint and you have to adapt to weather / season and potential at the time

Will be interesting if everyone who has posted on the thread uploads a couple of pictures of plants / leaves 2-3 weeks post t2 to show how good or bad their choice has proven

it's legal - it has a mapp number

identical product form the same maker - just the name thats different

Just because it has a MAPP number doesn't mean it is still valid. One of the Zoro labels is still ok but the other has expired. Your Sentinel database will tell you all you need to know.

I have the right one - you would be very daft to apply a unlicensed product

I even had a little chat with a chap at BASF about it before buying
