T2

Have flag leaf poking out by about an inch in 6th October drilled Siskin. Anyone care to venture how long until its likely to be ready for T2? @Fromebridge, is NIAB doing leaf emergence predictions for T2 timings (I guess it's not so tricky as T1)?

Thinking of doing the equivalent of 1 - 1.25l of Adexar + CTL depending on how much rain we get this week.

Tends to be easier for members to work out themselves so not much point in flag leaf predictions. As Ollie says, if weather improves on the present it is likely to be out enough to spray inn about a week.

Anybody getting caught out with a long interval t1 to t2. Three weeks this weekend since t1 went on. Another week at least before t2. Amazed that the flag is only peeping at best. Crop has really slowed.
CTL going on tomorrow wind permitting

You will be surprised how fast the flag can emerge if the weather turns bright and warmer again. The majority of the crops I used to walk were contractor sprayed and so I had to send product ahead of time. Disease control was generally quite good provided I was careful with the interval between sprays- I used to record all the dates of when the recommendations were done so I knew what was coming next.

Yes exactly the same here, T1 on three weeks sat and away from monday till Fri. looks clean atm some of the late tillers have only just got leaf two out, bit undecided as if I go with straight ctl and it turns dry and crop stays clean would there be much point in using a sdhi ifno disease to cure?

Yeah same here mid Devon, Sat will be 3weeks so advice is 1ltr ctl to gain another week till flag out, really cold down here now.

I was very surprised to not see the flag leaf waving about. Growth has really slowed this last 2 weeks/10days. A real chilly wind today as well.
Looking brighter after the weekend and more settled but not sure how warm it will be. And currently looking windy after Monday.

Omitted the sdhi from the T1 with idea of going with some at T2. Will stick with that plan when the time eventually comes.

Mine have gone over 3 weeks already a couple of days back. Flag leaf will be fully out over the weekend, so hoping to go early next week. Rightly or wrongly it will have been nearer 4 weeks than 3, but it is what it is.

Undecided now. I have CTL, aviator and amistar in stock. Probably not the best selection! Might end up having to buy something else in.

Could be that some will need some terpal more than anything.

Personally I don’t think it is a bad mix! We always use adexar plus ctl I suspect the performance of the two mix’s will be hard to discern at harvest. My YR paranoia almost caused me to order some teb for a t1.5 on our Kerrin but that wouldn’t have been evidence based!

I was going for aviator plus CTL. I don't think I need the amistar as well. I'll add a better azole if any yellow rust. It has rained but I hardly think I would say it had been ideal fungus weather. Still some time to go here, so will depend how hot and humid next week turns out.

I completely agree we have had a couple of wet days after a very dry month, the septoria is only present in the bottom of the crop. L2 is emerging rapidly ATM. I reckon given that the T1T2 gap will be about 3.5 weeks. Slightly too long for YR but I am not bothered enough to spray as that disease cannot be found here atm.

Had a bit in the very prone Bennington but frost sorted it at t0 and basic t1 sorted it then. Even if it's all over, it will be ten hectare with a bit of epoxi in it rather than a radical rethink.

Flag leaf is just poking out on jb deigo. I go on holiday 21st so I'm hoping with some warm weather flag will be fully emerged by next weekend so I can spray before I go away, time wise it'll be 3 weeks and 3 days so spot on but if it is cold next week and flag doesnt fully emerge I'm tempted to go with a t1.75 of ctl and teb then a head and shoulders when I'm back.

My plan is 1lt librax plus ctl. There's very little disease and no signs of rust so this could be throttled back to a strobe/azole. I haven't ordered anything so will review the situation towards the end of next week.

On a separate note what are others using for t2 on barley??? As with the wheat there's no disease so tempted to go azole/strobe. It had bontima and proline at t1 and I've got some very well bought bontima in stock but it's not the best t2 product and seems a bit over kill for a low disease year.
