Fungicide miss here on the edge of a field shows the value of what has been applied so far…..

But I bet if you trot along to the no fungicide thread it's all marvelous!🙈

I always overfill the sprayer for fear of running out but yesterday, on the last load I put in the correct amount. A part field admittedly, but of course I ran out on the last longish short round.🤦

Bugger.

It’s one of those things that is significantly affected by geography. Your in Pembrokeshire?, I’m in Kent. Rust is the main issue here rather than septoria, and Skyfall has been the only variety to succumb this year. I’m dropping it next year as the Warburtons contract wasn’t worth bothering with anymore. Trying a 3ha field of Extase with no fungicide at all, although it has had some extra foliar nutrition.
What nutrients are you applying ?

Just finished T2-a few days later than I would have liked, but we have had over 7" of rain this month in Monmouthshire! Don't normally expect to have bow waves in front of the sprayer at this time of year!!!! Crops have piled on the growth in the last week and are looking very lush, so incuded some growth reg along with1L Univoq, 1L Arizona and 5 kg Bittersaltz. Total cost £48/Ha. might seem excessive but we are in the wet west and crops look like they have plenty of potential. Just need some sun now!

Boringly we are using Elartus! Crops very clean at this stage. Fortunately, in our situation, T2 will be perfectly timed as was the 0.5 of proline that went on at T1.

Looks like we are following suit with Elatus - apparently at 1l it works out a smidge more than Revystar. Same here on timing thankfully - 3 weeks to the day since T1.

Do elatus users perceive a greater risk from rust than septoria-is it varietal? I (in the east) would expect it would be a septoria focus all the way.

So I'm going with ..... a "hedged" approach, will split several fields up, results should be interesting

0.8 L Revystar

vs

1 L Univoq

vs

1 L Ascra xpro

vs

1 L Teb + 1 L Az
IF it was 2020 and you could add CTL I recon the teb and azoxy would come out on top.

As stated earlier in the thread my T2 won't be until after the 5th June as I've buggered off on holiday but crops were very clean so fingers crossed.
Plan is 1.1lt ascra but I may add to that depending on what I'm greeted with when I return, if we're getting the weather at home that were getting here on the Dorset cost I think my T2 will end up a combined head and shoulders T2 and T3.

bitten the bullet and ordered 1.0 lt/ha Revystar - 98 mm rain in last 3 weeks, crops looking good, not worth scrimping at this stage IMHO given 90% is Kerrin
Unbitten the bullet! just back from a walk around, flag fully out but Kerrin show fresh yellow rust on leaf 2……thankfully chemical not coming until tomorrow so managed to switch it for Elatus Era, 3 weeks from T1 tomorrow and it’s visible again. Last year of Kerrin, yields well but rust risk too high now

Well for us YR is more of a threat. That’s my perception. It’s also my perception that there is an interaction between YR and septoria. Septoria is always more apparent in rust susceptible varieties here, and we rarely see the kind of run away septoria you might expect on West Country crops. Also I won’t buy the most expensive fungicide because I always think there’s an element of leg lifting in the pricing, the (slightly) cheaper stuff works well enough if well timed IMO.
