all quality wheat here but will have to have a lot more rain before I even consider a t3 this year

T2 only went on last week so plenty of time to change my mind yet - its all down to likely weather but currently I think we are on for either the best or worst harvest we have had for several years right now !!

Will be spraying either straight teb or maybe teb plus poraz at half rate. Don't like dirty black ears at harvest. Only feed and group 3's here.

Bayer would say (well they would wouldn't they) that 0.8 Firefly is not enough to do the microdochium. Would that rate be enough for the fluoxastrobin to keep on top of brown rust?
If you forget about the microdochium, for which control is mediocre at best, a good dose of teb. will do the fusarium and brown rust.

I think it may be a last minute decision depending on the weather. ATM my crops don't look like they will yield, but I need to be on top of quality whatever, but if it stays dry...........

Agree 0.8lt/ha is skinning it to the bone, did 1lt last year and it was over the top giving the season. Light ground wheats still not had T2, waiting for head and shoulders spray, late this week, early next week. Heavy ground had robust T2, probably teb at T3

No rain at all here ATM. All quality wheats, but I'm thinking 0.75 - 1.0 l teb.
Can't bring myself to spend £24 ha + on a prothio based spray.
Any views?

The teb will do rusts and a bit of ear blight but nothing else. If the disease pressure is low, why not save a bit?

We will do teb on feed wheat since I feel yields will good. Personally I think YR is still a threat especially in kerrin. My 4 week gap between t1 and t2 let a bit back in on the lower leaves. Proline always too dear for me at t3.

Lol. Patience has never been a virtue for me but with 1/3 of my land in winter barley, so waiting for the wheat will at least let the sodding bg germinate on the floor. Silver linings and all that.

Personally I feel after the horrendous 2012 fusarium & michrodochium wheat infections, the amount of inoculum returned to the soil has intensified stem base & ear infection intensity if the conditions are at all conducive. Surprising after such a dry spring, how much nodal fusarium is about. What prior to 2012 would have led to a bit of ear disease, now leads to 3, 4, 5 lost grains. 10%!! Varietal resistance is either strong like Leeds, reflection-or average(ie not great) most other vars, or catastophic-Cougar, which was areal shame as otherwise it was a great variety, but chance of a bit of rain at flowering, and you had a tonne/ha down the drain.

Planning teb, but will have proline in the store if turns wet, with phosphite for seed crops. Mix with amistar I would imagine as a standard.

Looking like a wet week next week and latest models showing unsettled conditions until mid June. I've got this far with some great looking wheats. I'm not going to fall down at the last hurdle. Teb and prochloraz on the feeds and prosaro on the millers
