Hi guys.
looking to upgrade from a 2004 TM130 to a 2018 T6.145 AutoCommand. has anyone any experience with a T6.145 AC?
My main job for the tractor will be ploughing with a four furrow plough. something the tm130 has little problem with, should the 145 pull away no problem or will it have its work cut out?
Any advice appreciated. Thanks

No experience of the t6 range but have recently bought a t7.225ac to take over work from a tm155rc (sits between that and a t7060pc). One thing to watch with NH is the unboosted power is less than the badge, I think around 115hp rated and 125hp max for the t6.145. You will also lose some power through the CVT. This may mean it lacks a bit of power compared to the tm. However the autocommand let's you chose a speed between gears and I personally think that more than makes up for the power losses through the box. Only way to really tell would be a demonstration if thats possible. The only other thing I would say though is Autocommand is the absolute business and once you've had one you wouldn't want to go back

Have you priced up a 6.145 against a 6.180? Sometimes a less popular combination such as. 145AC can be close in price to a more popular combination.
Agree with Hutchy though, once you have a Vario tractor you will never go back.

Work cut out, as they are only 145hp about 20% of the time, and wont have the low rev torque of the TM!

It probably would be - the equivalent of a TM155 is a T7 210 so a 190 is probably not far off the mark
A TM155 is no match for a T7.210 auto command. Especially on PTO work

the thing with the Vario box in the NH is that the boost is available a lot more than the powershift versions. The engine with some careful setting of the various dials and buttons can be ran at its optimum all the time as well.

Yes anyone can jump on nd drive the vario versions but to truly get the best out of them it takes a bit of time effort and knowledge.

Certainly like others have said once you got tuned into how to get the best out of a vario box tractor there’s no going back!

Totally agree. It’s a wonderful setup and a pleasure to drive.

I already have T7.190 auto command, and after buying one I have now decided to get another, hence changing to a 2018 145 with 3100 hours or a 2014 golden jubilee t6.160 AC for similar money with 5000 hours. But conscious of the fact will be going down to 4 cylinder from 6 in the TM130.

What dials do you set to run near boosted power near all the time as you say?

Boosted power is available a lot more than powershift versions, it doesn’t drop out on gearchanges briefly like the powershifts do (mainly cos there is no gear changes) and is available at lot lower speeds on the road. Around 12k rather than just in the top 3-4 gears.

setting trans aggressiveness into no.3 and tweaking the droop dial makes a difference to output on PTO work if your running near the upper limits of tractor capacity I’ve found.

I also lock the tractor into 1sr range on heavy draft or PTO work to stop it trying to change range as the level of load alters.

A friend of mine was a die hard 6cyl fan and changed an MXM140 (TM150) for a Maxxum 150 (T6.180) and says he wishes now he went for the 4 cyl 145 as we compare our fuel useage mine does seem to be quite a bit better with no real difference in performance.

I would think this is why CNH only offer one 6cyl option throughout the Maxxum/T6 range as they can get the 4cyl to perform equally as well with a considerable fuel saving.

Apparently they have only kept the 6 cyl option (there may be more than one 6cyl option now possibly) as some people just want a 6 cyl engine. Certainly factory fresh and meeting all emissions regs i don't think there is a difference in performance between the 4 and 6 cyl engines. Might be a different story if you get them mapped though.

I'm intrigued by all these buttons and settings the experts tweek to get the best out of them too!?🤣

I just push the stick forward and go.

I only really alter the droop dial on the mowers as it means it just slows the tractor rather than dropping the revs too much.
