Hi
Anyone out there having issues communicating to a T7 ECU.
When Programming is selected if fails at Identification Code Reading.
I notice the kLine led flicks green once or twice and then 2-3 minutes later it returns the below msg.
ECU shows green 'online' on the left hand menu ? Is there interference coming from somewhere on the Kline?
Any help appreciated.

T7.200 4a, last evening I tried it on a 6080 and a T6.175 all showing the same comms issue..
Got a mate with his pc & older version 9.1 and experienced the same issue on the 200 and 6080..
did not get to try his on the 175.
We have both done this previously on our laptops with SCR faults etc.. only difference this time with my laptop is
I have upgraded to 9.2 since last flashing an ECU.
I did get into the ECU faults last week and cleared them.. There are references to interference on the KLine on ETim
but no real work around to get past this issue?

Thanks Wold-Topper I will look at dims port dfox unfamiliar with them.

Dimsport and dfox are ecu recalibration tools ie tuning tools so won't really help you flash a standard dataset unless you can find a similar machine read the ecu and use that file in your own. I assume you are using a "clone" EST and not genuine CNH? I'm sure that a firmware update was released for the DPA5 around the release of v9.2 may be worth checking.

Thanks. My mate has the 9.1 version on Dealer PC they use out in the service vans etc.. I'm pretty sure its interference causing the issue or something small like a baud rate setting preventing comms..
as we have flashed these before.

I remember last year '6-9mts ago' we had a T7 that periodically lost its DataSet 3158 etc
ruled out starter/battery/isolator relays/ leads / contacts etc.. finally settled down with a reflash of the ECU.

This current T7 has similar issues history of 3158's and advised owner to swop in a new starter as he had changed the battery etc.. sorted the dataset but it is also throwing 3301, Rail pressure issues / Cylinder 3 BIP Search Failure -Too Many Unsuccessful Searches and hoping the ecu flash will sort it as I have swopped out the rail sensors.. to no avail.
I have a spare ecu and when fitted it stops throwing 3301.. I'm suspicious of the owner that he may have caused a short when fitting starter as there is evidence of arcing/burn marks!!

Yes Wold-Topper / Spanner_Man good idea I could try copying the firmware file across, using one of the mapping tools above etc..

Just wondering if you guys had encountered this comms issue and found a work around with EST/DPA setup..

So as I gather these tools your using are not genuine CNH tools ie you don't pay a license fee to them. We are currently on v9.3 and have been for the last year. As I understand 9.1 would have stopped working last year and 9.2 stopped working this year if genuine fee paying. Still think you should look for the firmware update for the DPA5, if you have access to the technical info should be easy found. I have no issues flashing through easy tool, all be it don't do much now as all the machines as of 4b are done through EST

Ok Thanks spanner_Man that might explain it. Mine is a clone V9.2 but the mates is dealer owned still at V9.1.. He will need to get it updated... Dealer has others we might try one of them etc..
Can the DPA firmware be completed manually? has anyone upgraded to 9.3 recently any issues?
I might try to get the Dfox setup.. Is this a bench job setup? Is there a Dfox adaptor etc..
Thanks again..

Just a case of finding the correct patch and loading to your computer. Don't quote me but sure it updates when you plug in the DPA5 next time you use it. Again this is all genuine EST don't know how it works with clones.
If you are looking at tuning gear, I would go with the dimsport stuff

Hi before I go changing anything, can someone please advise what F/W version is on their DPA which successfully reads ed7 etc ECU's in conjunction with a V9.2 EST loaded.
Spanner_Man do you know if your DPA F/W changed also when you upgraded to V9.3. It may have asked you on 1st use after upgrade 9.3?

Just to follow up.. other dealer laptop flashed the ecu without issue.. had the update done on the clone to 9.3 no change to firmware on the adapter. It established comms but its intermittent. Just to note the clone with EASY I would not recommend them for ecu flashing etc.. I'v ordered the trasdata kit compatable on bothT4/5 going forward, its important to have solid comms for ecu work..
