Got the above here, 2017 with 1800hrs.
The hydraulic pump gets very noisy when tipping a trailer. Not all the time but just occasionally.
New oil and filters and still the same and plenty of oil???

Did you put a bead of oil on the filter seal?

99% sure I did, I usually do anyhow.

Just wondered, they like to air from the big filter seal if it’s not perfect.

Il have a look at it next time I get a chance. Maybe take it off and on again.

How big is the trailer? Twin rams? Quite often they’ll need the back end oil topping up well past the extra mark for twin ram, three stage jobs found on Baileys and the like.

Yes. Twin ram, three stage, oil is just above the extra mark.

Is it just when the trailer reaches the second/third stages that it starts being noisy? There’s only 70-80l of oil in the backend, and it does all hydraulics, transmission, steering etc so those big rams drain what is left quite quickly.

Yes, im not sure if its everytime or not but will keep an ear and maybe add a little more oil.

Let your lift arms down before tipping that'll let you know if extra oil will help or not

did you remember to close the air inlet tap thing on the side of the filter? it makes a horrible noise if you forget...
so I've heard.... [emoji85]

Fill it right up, so the dealer tells me.

Yes I made sure to close it, although the quality of it seems a bit amateurish.
