TAG-IE 2/3

£30 a year does not sound excessive if it enables you to access some software that is not a nightmare to get to grips with. Which is what the Tag-ie software was.

It isn’t. Provided that it was explained at the time of purchase, which it was not. I’ve found the blumph that came with the handset and no mention of a one year software support. Just software support via Farm Matters. Bob Senior escaped, leaving some frustrated customers.

Anyway, the disc is chucked, Neil phoned and we up and running again.

I hate sheep.

Thanks Neil. It was the Geordie accent wot did it.

The TAG-ie is cheap and cheerful for those of us who just have stores passing through. Sorry that both buyers and FM got caught in the middle of a wrangle with Bob.

FM software, we have found easy to use and does what it says on the tin.

This might be a stupid question but......are you supposed to clear the reader after every time you load it onto the computer? This doesn't seem right to me as you would surely lose all your tag data and any medicine alerts (not that I've worked out how to do that yet :banghead:). Its just its come round to lambing time again and last years lambs are still on there. Do I delete them as I go?! But then that means ewes that haven't lambed this year will look like they have as I wont have scanned them so last years results will remain. Agggghhh! Also it really annoys me that you can't record a replacement tag number so if a ewe loses her tag you have to start a new record for her and lose all her history!!
Don't know whether to give it up as a bad job and try to get a new one on this grant!!

TBH @lizzieS giving up on your tagie might not be a daft idea. With no technical support or advice available then every time you come across a wee issue it’s goibg to be hell.

If you can get a grant to get another reader then I’d suggest you apply. Just make sure it’s compatible so that you can at least get your existing data across to your new setup.

I think (from memory) that when you load from the handset it overwrites what's on the computer and then when you load from the computer it overwrites on the handset. So you should end up with the most up to date info both ways.

If you do the movements on the programme then the lambs should disappear from there so when you copy to the handset it will delete them on there. At least I think that's what's meant to happen

We've upgraded a number of users from Tag-ie to Select Sheepware. Any Tag-ie users wanting to make the move, please get n touch, especially if your tag-ie system is still functioning. It's a lot easier to get data out of a system which is still working.
