Tagging Sheep

How do I go about tagging my untagged sheep, over the last three years I have acquired 10 sheep from a lady who has never tagged her sheep. I didn't know at the time about tagging sheep, now I do know and realise there is no way I can go back and do it then proper way as this woman doesn't have CPH ect. I shouldn't of taken sheep from her in the first place but they were free sheep at the time I was naive about how sheep movements and tags worked.

Any ideas where I can get advice to rectify the situation with my own records? I want to tag them properly so I can breed and sell from them. I also want to apply for payments schemes and grants and I will get an inspection at some point so want to make everything right 🤔

Double tag them with your own tags. Don't mention it to anyone else again!
Don`t forget that you are supposed to record in your flock register when and what you tag!
Questions for the OP.... Do you have other sheep of your own? How many? Have you a supply of red "replacement" tags? Hopefully you can sort the problem out (best done sooner than later though!).

I believe you're quite safe to double tag with red tags. We had an unknown sheep show up here years ago no tags but holes in her ears. No way to know where she came from so we put in red tags. The really isn't anything else you can do, she legitimately has lost her tags from her original holding.
