Technology is great if you know how to utilise and use it correctly, China thinks showing its a political power and potential force to invade Taiwan carrys an element of risk of retaliation, the challenge is how to reciprocate the gesture in a manor they would never consider....🤔
Threaten to send Jacinda to talk at them....

You do realise you can get google earth in near real time if you pay enough!
I think it is about £350 a year. So I suspect the Chinese military have the ability to have superior pictures.
However I think they would be very reluctant to target something which would probably attract a very significant response.
Not so sure they would worry about targeting HMS Queen Elizabeth.

Ocean recon satellites have been a thing for decades. You can also blind them with ECM and lasers. This is nothing new.

I would argue that the way the Chinese have invested in the West so heavily has actually made them more dependent on us than the other way around. If the USA slapped real deal sanctions and banned Chinese imports, froze their bank accounts etc. It would hurt them badly more sure than any nuke would.
A very interesting viewpoint which may have some merit at the present stage but if it continues to a much higher level I fear that the Chinese takeover would soon near completion.

Exactly, every dictatorship has a weakness.

Do you really think think sanctions would hurt China? I think sanctions would cripple our industry first as without chinese products we would not have any new vehicles on the road, no new computers, phones, white electrical goods, most clothes, in fact most items not listed as perishable goods. If the item is not made in China then some of the component parts are.

I wouldn't worry about china-Taiwan, it more likely to kick off with the India-China border dispute
I dont think so, neither has much to gainfighting over a few feet of mountain Rock. They will pinch and punch a bit , but that will be all.
The Taiwan situation is very dangerous as it will be about dictators claiming historic rights, think Hitler, Stalin, and ultimately XI

it not about the rocks, it about who going to be the big dog in the area, think UK v France in the 1700's
India has been building alliances with the major western powers, it has it own independent Nuclear weapons, as well as (allegedly) other weapons of mass destruction. and boy are they pee'd at china, over many thing not leased the aid they given Pakistan

China won't attack Taiwan, they make a lot of noise and will show taiwan who the big bad boss is, but they won't attack as they know the western government will retaliate

Taiwan won't attack China, at leased not without major support for the western governments, and i can't see any off them wanting to fight a major/nuclear war

but

India v China that a whole different ball game

Except that debacle was firmly on the idiot bidens' shoulders, twenty years sacrifice just thrown away............no wonder then that China is taunting him.
There is a fair amount on the news channels questioning President Biden's capacity or, rather, it's decline. Is this discussed on the general media over there, or just the likes of Fox?

In the 19th Century Garnet Wolesley predicted armageddon would be a future war between the United States and China...

But what did he know, he was just the commander of the World's greatest fighting forces back then...

Even his propaganda buddy's at CNN / MSNBC are starting to question his ability, voter remorse stalks' the land...........well, not the land so much, more the city dwellers really, suburban females in particular are said to be "disappointed" in his performance.
