Just had a letter. I signed up to lots of exemptions and am now confused as to which i really need and how much i may have to pay ( get ripped off) per year. Any farmer experts out there that have any advice?

Consultation email arrived today about exemption charges. It’s on my to do list. Probably deregister my exemptions is the first thought if it becomes chargeable.

We're registered for 8 exemptions. some of which may never be used.
Depends what is classed as 'waste', in the eyes of the EA I suppose.

£56 to register then a bundle of farm exemptions @ £88 (?) but clear as the proverbial if it's a price per exemption, or a bundle.

how can you charge for a 'exemption"?

you're either 'exempt" (pay nothing) or 'liable' if you pay

Nuever really understood when cleaning out ditches, why we needed an exemption to deposit on the bank/field, but didn't need an exemption to leave it in the ditch.

Will be looking at all exemptions and considering if we really need them.

I've also had the consultation email. If electronic system, I can't see why it should cost any more than about £5.

They don't want many replies! It's not an easy thing to respond to- click one link to have 56 pages to read (or not) and told to go on another website , the "citizen space" for the consultation, wherever and whatever that is. Consultation open until January.
