Tales of fiat tractors.

We had a winner in the late 90’s, can’t remember which model but about 130hp. All I remember is coming home most nights after school to find the winner in the yard with a tub underneath catching oil from the latest leaking point. Safe to say reliability was horrendous but a great tractor when it did work. Swapped the winner as soon as we could for a JD 6900, now that was a tractor!?

They were not known to leak oil that much the seal on the hi lo would leak when hours got high and the reverse syncro did give bother after 8000 hours but pretty bullet proof after that

Found this in an old drawer, like new.

An old 780 in the yellowish fiat colour painted terracotta st some stage. The original cab rotted and fell off and this comfort frame was fitted. Still on the button and starts first time.

Between home and 2 neighbours (not all at the same time) I grew up surrounded by them
450, 540 special, universal 640, 680, 880-5, 70-90, 80-90, 88-94, 90-90, 95-90, 1000, 100-90, 110-90, 110-90, 110-90, winner 130
Now the 2 neighbours have both moved on to NH products, I think the only fiat left is the winner 130 and the 88-94 which has been resigned to winter scraper duties

Might be a bit late to this, my great uncle and grandad got a 566 DT new in 1984, it's in everyday use, however it got a bit run down, me and my dad spent these last few months doing a bit of work to her, looking closer to prime now -

Missed this thread. We had in 1976/7, 780FWD 780 2WD white cabs, then the orange 780s then 2x 9090s all good tractors. The five cylinder engine in the 9090 were excellent. Good ole days!!
