Tanco mower thoughts?

Been looking at the new Tanco triple mower setup I’m wondering what are peoples thoughts on it. To me it seems a good idea as I already have a tractor fit to drive it. I’m still on 2 trailed mowers but will be looking to speed up the job in the future. I know it’s new and probably best give it a few years to iron out any problems that might occur

Is there an issue with with being lent a machine to put in front of a audience of millions? No different to car manufacturers lending top gear a car is it?
If they would give an honest review it would be great but they probably wont tell all the faults and improvements required, in fairness they probably wouldnt know. But yes itl be good publicity but an in depth look at the machine would be nice. I wouldnt buy a product just because donkey said it was good

I think you’re missing the point. You, I and thousands of others are now aware that it even exists. Being so new, this thread would be bumped off into the darkness that is page 2 of the farming forum. Becuase of the association with Grassmen, here it is still near the top

Does any review of anything ever really reveal all of a machines faults or good points for that matter?

Well seeing as they will probably have it for the season it would give them plenty of time to find out the positives and negatives. A review from any1 that will point out both would far more convince me to buy somethin as if they said that x,y and z was good about the machine then id believe them whereas if some1 is given stuf to review and it always comes up lookin great then its not really a review its more of a oohh this company has backed us so lets suck up to them and tell every1 how great thier product is. And before any1 gets at me im not just pointin the finger at grassmen as it happens with alot of other similar product info videos of mags like when did a tractor ever get a real bad review in profi as i stopped readin it because of this its not fact its just arse lickin of companys that support them

Tanco have a good few of these sold to contractors for this season, I seen it working on demo last year and I could not fault it. I think it will be a big success. Tango have not rushed this to market, it is being developed for years. So at this stage I’d have no worries about teething problems.

Very true, but if they are taking these to McKay's to try out, if you were speaking to Davy or James they will soon give you a proper opinion.

Trust you to bring this up Dave!! They did indeed but it had cutting issues due to bolting together 2 cutter bars on each side. They did many re works but since New Holland now own them I’ve lost touch to be honest. We (SIP) do a 15m 4 head (plus front unit) of you want something to go at!! I believe there is a market for 11-13m units that have a chassis thereby taking the stress off the 3 point linkage. Watch this space!
