Yes there is a bit of a knack to it, tend to have to give them a pluck, momentum will take them past the half way point, back up and drop pins in.We have a Fleming 2 x 10ft.
Changing from work to transport and back is so difficult especially on ploughing unless you have a helper.
Maybe there is a knack to it we cannot find . Today I used our fold out ring rollers for a little job, so much simpler.
All I would say is try before you buy.
I think your roller is maybe better designed. Ours has a stay and the pin in the red circle is very difficult to locate. Or you drop the rear roller which cures this problem, but picking up the rear roller is tough to line up.Yes there is a bit of a knack to it, tend to have to give them a pluck, momentum will take them past the half way point, back up and drop pins in.
Mine are Walter Watson, maybe other makes are different
Yes, that’s a different design, there is no stay on mine. The arm to pull the second roller travels 180 degrees and basically hits a stop, the pin then drops in behind the arm, it doesn’t have to line up with a hole in the arm.I think your roller is maybe better designed. Any chance you could fit a small hand winch to help drag it into place. I'm sure I saw something like that in farm ideas mag for hooking up gang rollers more easily.I think your roller is maybe better designed. I’m sure I have seen a pair of rolls advertised somewhere that have a hydraulic ram taking care of the offset, but I can’t find them at the minute.Any chance you could fit a small hand winch to help drag it into place. Thanks for that. Maybe a ratchet strap would work, at least on grass. Work in progress.Any chance you could fit a small hand winch to help drag it into place. I'm sure I saw something like that in farm ideas mag for hooking up gang rollers more easily.
Just a crank handle to wind strap maybe a tube with a handle and weld a pin to corner of roller for it to spin on.Thanks for that. Maybe a ratchet strap would work, at least on grass. Work in progress.
