Tanker problem

have you checked the ball traps for a sticking ball or blockage..............................................................................................

Tanker working perfect, balls are working properly and doing their job and no slurry passing. Just wondered why the noise isn't as noticeable as smaller tanker. Another lad was filling small one yesterday and I was away up the yard and heard it.

Anyone using the MEC 11000 pump, can you head much difference in the note when full? I can hear a bit of change in note but not as noticeable as the major 1300 tanker we have.

No the only main difference is the shape of the exhaust, the 11000 pump, the exhaust come out straight, and the smaller pump the exhaust comes out and turns down. Maybe just the type of them which makes different noise.

are they both 540 pumps?
maybe the bigger 1 is a 1000pto pump and isnt running as fast on 540?

Both are 540 pumps.

Check that when you operate the ram for the main valve it actually does move the brass vee plate of the valve - Sometimes the two part company...

Does the tanker still fill ok or does it try to pass liquid back through the pump

I'd of said that sounds about right, using a major with an 8000 litre pump and hispec with an 11000 litre pump. The 8000 is a higher pitched noise with a definite change of tone while the 11000 is a deeper bellow that you can struggle to notice if you happen to turn your head at the same time, but if you watched the vac guage when the ball went up you'd see the needle suddenly drop
