Wouldn’t say that here we go. 2 years for business before it goes but agriculture gets relief as well as rail and fishing.

As above. Red stays for 2 years.
Agriculture retains red derv use, as do certain other key industries.
Consultation on the big users before any changes.

Will be interesting to see how "agriculture" uses get clamped down on - eg hauling grain long way, doing some fence work and grass cutting etc with farm equipment.

Think he probably just put the cost of HS2 construction up by 20%... be interesting to see the details... diggers will be an interesting one.. might see more farm drainage being down with tractor mounted ones in future!

I was referring to your “buy the wife a little runabout” comment - apologies if you feel such an attitude is contemporary, but it certainly isn’t in most households. Of course, I may have misunderstood your post - it’s not easy to follow in the absence of any punctuation.

my little woman drives a disco the point i was trying to make is the price of fuel has very little effect on its consumption, but politicians use it as an excuse to impose more tax, its not just fuel booze and fags ,they put more tax on them for your own good, i don't think so!

Many people believe what is passed off as fact if it is given with an air of authority, so i cant bare to let this pass without correction....

Tractor speed limits were comparatively recently raised to 25mph (40kmh) providing the tractor and equipment are no wider than 2.55m. Many medium and larger tractors already exceed this width.
Over 2.55m and up to 3.5m the speed limit is 20mph

Only JCB Fastrac and Mercedes Unimog currently meet the regulatory requirements to travel at 65kmh, and machinery towed or carried has to be no wider than 2.55m and built to the same higher regulatory requirements to travel at these speeds

The large, wide tractor dragging a wider slurry tanker I followed was doing a steady 35mph by my car's speedometer.

It was a green tractor, and a light grey tanker.

Far easier for them to pass the costs on, stone/concrete/tarmac goes up in price, quanity surveyors have to change a couple of figures in their quoting program.

Fuel will be a tiny part of the cost of HS2. Trust me...the price of railway equipment is just extraordinary.

It's a supprisingly small percentage of cost in house building.
