This meeting is aimed at everyone associated with the farming industry who wants to learn more about the recent TB outbreaks in the area and how we can work to try and eradicate it from our herds.
When: 7.45pm Thurs 18th July
Where: Barton Grange Hotel, Garstang Road, PR3 5AA (on the A6 in the centre of Barton)
Speakers

Phil Latham - Dairy Farmer, Cheshire

Phil has seen 80 of his cattle slaughtered due to TB this year alone. The farm has lost £14,000 a month in sales. Phil has a ‘closed herd’ and has not bought any animal from other farmers for 16 years – meaning his cows have been infected by wildlife.
Ian McGrath - Dairy Farmer, Cheshire

Ian farms in Knutsford and has been heavily affected by TB for 11 years. He now routinely talks to groups of farmers and is involved with The Bovine TB Eradication Advisory Group for England (TBEAG).
Carl Padgett - Cattle Vet , Lancashire

Carl has worked as a large animal vet all of his practicing life and then became president of the BCVA and BVA where he became heavily in-volved in combating TB from the veterinary side. He now leads the fight to control TB also as a member of TBEAG.
There will also be a discussion panel after the talks including Adam Briggs (NFU), Clare Wild (AHVLA) as well as the three main speakers.
Please ring 01772 866014 if you wish to attend so that Lambert, Leonard and May Vets can make arrangements for refreshments
