TB rules, cattle movement question

Just a quick question. Can I buy cattle from market keep them for a week or so and move them to a different holding ? I'm tb clear, the cattle would be clear having had a movement test to go to market. So as long as the test date on the cattle doesn't run out would I need to premovement test them? tia

What TB testing interval are you in?

That's how dealers work, so see no reason why not.

As long as the cattle you're buying are from a tb4 area. If they are tb1 then you need to post movement test between 60 and 120 days and you cannot move them other than straight to slaughter.

So that would mean they would have to stay on the first holding after market until they have been post movement tested? Can they move every six days within a tb1 without stalling for the post move test?

If the cattle remain in the high risk area they can be moved as much as you like subject to 6 day rule within the 60 day test window. Once they move into the low risk they cannot be moved except to slaughter until post movement tested so you effectively have a 64 day standstill! Another way to put dealers out of business. Though cattle that have passed the post movement test can be yarded with cattle yet to have it without any further restrictions and sold as stores! So as long as they contract TB while in the low risk area that's alright then. They are either clear when pre movement tested or not testing again up here is pointless
