Mother in law has just been in for a new knee today 16.5k! Makes a all singing dancing crate look cheap if it saves knackered knees and hips.
‘IF’ is a big word though.

Ian Learmonth at Thorburn GroupWho is the agent for Clipex Sheep handler for North England?
By the sound of you the damage has already been done. But I think a Clipex/Te Pari would help delay the inevitable.‘IF’ is a big word though.
i try not to keep really big ewes these days, down to genetics , theyre supposed to be sheep not cattle. If I had big cross ewes it would be a no brainier for me!
Do they run through it better then, compared to the combi? Is there an additional labour saving vs a combi?By the sound of you the damage has already been done. But I think a Clipex/Te Pari would help delay the inevitable.
I estimate my combi clamp has put a decade on the shepherding life of my knees. I think the Te Pari will do the same again.

Have you estimated how much the shepherding life of your knees will be shortened by getting fat & lazy?

When weighing/drafting absolutely. Machine can do that so I work the dog from the side of the race and assist sheep flow.Do they run through it better then, compared to the combi? Is there an additional labour saving vs a combi?
Looking at buying one here in ireland but im on the fence definitely has its merits but if ive to bring the prattley go back for a clamp and then go back again for the trailer.
I can only really see me using it for crutching and weaning or pulling lambs from large mobs for the factory.
I dont see it being feasable for doing dosing etc. As i think itd be to stop start for a one man operation.
Have you asked for an on farm demo. Clipex are keen to arrange hereLooking at buying one here in ireland but im on the fence definitely has its merits but if ive to bring the prattley go back for a clamp and then go back again for the trailer.
