Teacher sacked for kicking a horse

Just spoke to my wife about this. She used to work with horses professionally training and breaking them and instructing riders. She sees no problem in what the woman was doing.

Doesn’t really matter what your wife thinks, it’s what the local education authority and the public that pay her wages think

So this could be done in our valley instead of the foot packs coming. That would be a good solution. Why doesn't everyone do it this way and save the bother of upsetting the neighbours?
Possibly the ground needs more dogs or bigger hounds. And to be fair you’d probably think I was as bad if I appeared on your ground 😂 or possibly the group you have coming round your way are just knob heads. Every section of society has them.

Ah I see you’re in South Wales. Not likely to be pikies. More likely an unregistered foot pack or bobbery type pack of hound xs. Very effective way to control foxes. Ultimately a lot of the lads on that part of the world have a naturally intimidating manner, big lad, skin heads and tattoos. Etc. It doesn’t mean they are bad lads. And sadly you can’t control where a fox runs or where dogs jump abs as long as they don’t actually harm stock and are retrieving dogs and leaving it’s just one of those things especially if you are an incomer who has polo minted a block of farm land with a small holding

Below was the result of a couple of hour walk with the shotgun and an example of legal hunting of foxes with dogs within full compliance of the law.

Better look on the sheep worrying threads as sheep farmers think dogs not under "close control" can/should be shot if they are in fields with livestock.

you see you want them to change the way they do it I can see why conflict can arise
I appreciate the honesty, I understand that change is difficult sometimes, but I really can't see why the legal method shouldn't be used in areas where there is widespread upset caused by the dog pack method. Its not just incomers who don't want this around them - there are plenty of farmers who don't like it, and anyway the countryside is changing same as everywhere else - many growing tourism businesses rely on the natural beauty of where we live - and that includes the wildlife. Why shouldn't they get a say in this?

Tourism business’s should not expect other business’s to have to give way to their demands with no reciprocity. You demand the end of beagling as it somehow offends and you it damages tourism , but there are people travel hundreds of miles and spend well in local hostelries, when they are away.
I remeber a local hotelier discussing lockdown in one of the Foot and Mouth outbreaks. A member of the ramblers was complaing about shutting the footpaths and the danger to the local tourist industry. The hotelier responded very strongly, “ I would not care if I never saw another rambler, drive here, go for a long walk come in my bar for half a shandy use the toilets , then sit on my benches eat their sandwiches then drive home!

yes change is difficult I see you are having trouble with it why shouldn't you change you move somewhere cause you like it then proceed to change it and the way it works never understood that mind set I can see why you didn't want to identify what area your in .

I actually think its the other way round
Sadly I am certain he is right. There are any number of people who wish to change the countryside to the bucolic beauty they believe it should be.
We have a local group here who are wanting to change our local river, I am not against anything I have heard so far, but if you want to go clearing the fallen trees the weed blocking etc. Etc. Who would you consult first? I would suggest the riparian owners. Despite several public meetings not once has any approach been made!

Why? what have I said that would offend anyone and make them want to come and "teach me a lesson" I'm just trying to understand what's going on, and why they keep coming to our area even though they know we don't want it. The last thing I want to do is create any more conflict.

I agree, which is why im asking the question here. There needs to be way more conversation about difficult issues and just threatening those who don't agree with what goes on is pointless to both sides of the argument.
