Dunno, you will have to go on to the 'lets all waste our time and energy at the NFU falling out with farmers' thread to ask that question.

:banghead::banghead::banghead:

@Guy Smith

Didn't know there was such a thing..... but there is definitely a perception that those who are supposed to support farmers are relatively silent on many of these matters - or certainly don't seem to promote enough.

So I assume everybody on here has been to all their local schools and given a talk about farming.

Thought not.

Yes. And, as you ask, we have a farm club for teenagers every Saturday morning.

That's not the point. Even if everyone on here went and did a talk in their nearest school, what % of the schools in the UK would that touch ? 10 % ? 20 % ?

We live an in urban society. Teachers are up to their necks with work, they reach for the internet to do their lesson planning for the same reason as we reach for the internet, it makes life easier.

It is, surely, beholden on farmings national bodies to make sure that a) their own online resources are up-to-speed, and b) they keep a weather eye on what else is out there and intervene when needed.

Yes ?

There is a lot more going on that some think.
Always had kids visit farm ,see projects, use barn nativity, cows been in,lambs been in ,Tractor been in, corn and veg in for harvest etc.etc.
Rules and regs. Are stopping or stopped all this so more detrimental effects caused.

For anyone who isn't familiar with Twinkl:
Lets say someone puts a post on here saying they need to produce a pest control plan for their grain store, and asks if someone could provide a template.
That's how Twinkl works for teachers. If you have to put a lesson together on climate change, you would go onto Twinkl and find a lesson plan that a fellow teacher has shared.
An enterprising teacher with vegan tendencies worked out years ago that Twinkl is an excellent way to spread the word. Put a lesson plan together that blames cows, put it on Twinkl, and you have reached countless thousands of kids all around the UK. Fair play to them.
The NFU, with all of their resources, should be all over Twinkl. Put 'cows and climate change' into the Twinkl search engine and teachers packs explaining the truth of it should come top.
Nope.
Attached the latest lesson plans on Twinkl for Veganuary 21.
And our lesson plans, explaining how livestock are part of a sustainable food system, are where exactly ?

So do teachers just automatically "accept" what ever comes up on Twinkl without questioning the validity, accuracy or efficacy?
So your education system is locked into systemic indoctrination at the expense of education?
If that is the standard of education in the UK, whats the point of sending children to a traditional UK school, you'd be better off sending them to a Steiner school like in Australia with a more balanced holistic educational system.

As per my post: No more or less than farmers just automatically "accept" a template pest control plan posted on here.
Information provided by fellow professionals, to make your life easier. Why wouldn't you accept it ?

Surely this should be top priority for ahdb beef and lamb as well as the NFU

This half-term, the Nations teachers are going to be using Twinkl to put together their lessons on COP26. Everything on Twinkl says that cows are destroying the planet. The next generation of consumers are being taught that they need to eat less meat and dairy if they are to have a future.

The NFU have huge resources at their disposal. They have had years to get teachers info sheets onto Twinkl that promote a local, balanced diet as being best for the environment. Why isn't this happening ? Does no-one care that the next generation is being poisoned against you ?
