Is there any reason why not post teat dipping would make my scc drop?

I'm now down to an average of 46?

Edit: just realised it's the beginning of the month so not an average but even so 46 is half of what it was when I was post dipping

I guess it comes down to what you were using before & if that particular one was doing more harm than good.

I guess it comes down to what you were using before & if that particular one was doing more harm than good.

It could be a multitude of things
Weather could be the big one

No! I clean that every time it gets filled up, looks basically new!

If outside temperature drops so will scc
Heat stresse them

I think a lot of those type of dips like the one you used are possibly too good at killing things & bugger up their natural defence & make them more susceptible to any low level infection. Fine if you’ve got a problem & trying to fix it but not if everything is normally fine. We’ve tried several different types of dip over the years & always go back to a good but basic iodine based dip. Teat condition would be a very high priority.
