To hold on to the tine if it breaks. The came loose on mine to I loosened them off pushed them up to the top and gave them a good tightening and the seem to be staying put now.

Thanks will have a look at them we bought ours second hand is there a best way to set them up for very heavy damp crops ie wheel positioning

We run ours with the wheels on the highest setting and short top link to get a high throw. However in later thinner crops you need to lift the wheels and lengthen the top link to get a better angle of sweep.
