Telehandler

We bought a manitou 628T about 5 years ago for £9k and it has been excellent. Brother in law bought a jcb 520 as a second machine a couple of years ago for about £6k and that has also been good. I think if you buy carefully there are plenty of good handlers about for less than £10k

what size if any tractors do you have? would you not be better putting a decent size loader on a tractor

The tractor (MF 3085), has been quoted at £8k, hence why I am looking to get a telehandler, as I can then do more with it I would believe (especially due to the lifting weights) over the tractor loader option.

Should have thought there would be a few loadalls around that Price kicking about.
If you're not dogging it on a muck heap all day long an old 520 would do the job well under your budget.

It would be doing some muck heap work, but not on a commercial scale.

What do you actually need it to do? Pick up hitch on a telehandler is a crappy idea

Basically load trailers, lift building materials (and concrete panels), raise purlins etc. A universal tool around the site, the towing option is to simply allow more kit to be taken to the area required in one go (hopefully) and not on the road..

paid £6.5k for my Matbro TS270 4 years ago, only repair has been a new starter motor, got a pu hitch and use it for loading and hauling 300 bales of haylidge a year, brilliant machine and wouldn't want to be without it.
Probably worth more than you paid for it too....

Would a backhoe 3cx type not suit? I’d much rather risk an 8k backhoe than a telehandler anyday! They will move/shunt trailers around aswell, just get a suitable bracket on the 4in1!!

I did look at some, but we also need something to lift to a height, so ruled them out.
