Don’t you fly the owls for enjoyment then rather than “sport”? Nothing wrong with that.
I fly them for enjoyment of flying them and enjoyment of the sport. I take pride that I have trained her from a chick barely able to hop onto my glove right upto free hunting rabbits. I dont have the same bond with my rifle even though it's a much more successful hunting tool.

All of my birds are trained to glove and lure. Some are also trained to hunt. I love watching my harris or my owl take rabbits but it's also equally rewarding to me watching my kestrel or my peregrine chasing a lure. Sometimes I just take them to the woods and let them follow me from tree to tree....
