Terminal tups

Looking like bluetongue has wrecked my tupping plans, after enough terminal tups for 200 ewes, ideally by end of week, ideally old/end of life as have enough tups elsewhere. Ideally Suffolks or charolais. Many thanks Aaron

Location, location, location.

If you're in the RZ, you can buy from the RZ or the clean zone.

If you're in the clean zone, you can only buy from the likes of @neilo who are also in the clear zone - so what's the problem?

You've actually got more choice if you're under restrictions in the RZ.

Unless the tups have been infected, which might render them infertile...

Someone was telling me last week that they'd had it in their 10 shearling rams. So far 2 dead and the rest unsaleable. :(

In hampshire, tups are in an rz, but a bunch of ewes away on wintering are not in the rz. Thanks Neil, if nothing closer comes up may have to get in touch. Thanks

Tangent warning - if you are outside a control area and sell to somebody in an RZ do you have to do any additional paperwork for your delivery?

Whereabouts was this as all the evidence around here is for sheep to be getting over it very quickly with no ill effects.

Of course there is always the possibility of fertility issues when they have a temperature.

We've put the tups in with our few texel ewes.

Bit worried about the BT thing so had held off a bit later than usual. The rz is about 10 miles east of us currently.

I gave everything a good dose of crovect, chucked 6 tups in with them and are hoping for the best!!

That's all you can do, although I suspect the Crovect won't do any more than help you feel like you're doing something.

If it could be shown to have any benefit at all, we'd not be able to move for adverts for the stuff and the price would have doubled.
