Tesco beef is poor. I shouldn't be saying that as 70% of our fat cattle would be killed through them. Kepak own slaughterhouse we supply now.

Strangely the slaughterhouse has it's own butchers shop attached to weighbridge office and meat out of its really good!:scratchhead:
Work that one out?

We only buy beef through local butchers shop now. Try and avoid Tesco now for anything.

Aldi are bottom feeders , I can't believe farmers are praising them up , Tesco et al have their faults but they're heads above these scumbags .

Not been in a Tesco for over a year. At one point it was all Tesco.

If it's cheap it tends to be shite and the rest of its not the best either.. Local Butcher Aldi and Morrison's all our Meat and Veg come from.

Always people stood with their thumb up their arse in Tesco doing nothing... and a numpty telling you what til to go to... all unnecessary cost and the reason anything of quality is more expensive.

What do you mean by bottom feeders?

Never had a bad bit of meat from Aldi. Had plenty from Tesco, that’s mainly why I stopped using them.

My point was they are doing UK meat producers a massive disservice by squeezing the margin on good produce so tightly that they are turning it into something you’ll only buy once.

Are they making money ? or trying to gain market share .
Tesco need to leave them to it .

Interestingly, I heard an advert on the tranny by Tesco saying that they are price matching Aldi (or Lidl) across a range of products.

Mr T is running scared

Large food supply business was talking to staff the other day about rivals that might "fall over" due to Covid and what business they would want to take on.

Basically came down to "Want Aldi as they pay a fair price, don't want Sainsbury as they skin you on price and really don't want Tesco as they will only do business if you guarantee them the best (ie lowest) price. Currently doing own label for Tesco and wish we weren't as it's a wafer thin margin."

Talking to someone the other day who supply all the major supermarkets with product. Basically Aldi and Lidl pay within 21 days (they insisted apparently) whilst the others insisted on their usual 90 days.

But we must remember that Tesco’s are the heroes of the pandemic

Its feedback like this why supermarkets would love to do away with meat altogether and move to manufactured alternatives.

Standardised production means they get a 100% reliable product
