Surely if it's in your lease, then it's up to the landlord to sort it out?

As above , first a polite visit. If that fails, a night visit !
But I ageee about the pens, don’t lend them out. Hired along with you could be a way to help your pal though. Bit of cash for you, and a help for your mate !
Sounds like they want you off! Hold your nerve and play a bit back. Pen the sheep around the carIt's the land agents who let it are the problem. Last year the water pipe to our trough supposedly sprung a leak in the sheds so was switched off and we couldn't get accesss... took 2 months chasing up in that drought before the agent did anything about it
When I raised the issue of the handling pens and the shed which is part of them at the start of last season, which they have let out, the agent played silly buggers and pretended not to know what shed I meant or how it could affect us.
There will be no winning with them, im a straightforward honest sort and I don't have the fight for twunts like that. I hate the aggro. We have the use of, but that's it - and after the shed was rented out, what's left isn't good for much. Used to could work with 300 ewes no problems, now it's a push with 100 - never mind lambs.
It's a shame, as we have rented and used the steading for over 20years. It used to be another land agent did the letting, and they were very good. This lot are just out to line their pockets

Pallets and hurdles.......Just wants the steading to himself, he isn't getting me off - the fields march with me. At very worst I'll do what I did last year and walk them home... which I don't need to do now with the mobile yard I'm not worrying
Interested to see what the others do though, it's buggered them more.

Put a few freshly weaned suckler cows there to for good measureWean the lambs outside his house
Looks a bit poshDrum roll please !...
Used the mobile yard today for the first time Nemo drench and copper multi vit for the Suffolk lambs. Lambs are almost all 5-7weeks of age, with the bulk around the 6 week. The 1 which had gotten very skittery and prompted me wanting to worm them has dried up a bit, but peace of mind now they are all done - for a while, at least
Wasn't sure how I'd get on with the yard, so I used all the hurdles out the back and ran them into it before setting up the dosing race and forcing pen. It's set up in the farthest away corner of the field - I don't think we will ever have driven the ewes into there before so really wasn't confident of them 'playing ball' but with the dog they went in fine - better than I had hoped! The ewes went through the race OK and I shedded them off leaving just the lambs to dose... but the lambs took a lot of work to get through. Probably too shiny and new, new system for us all and ofcourse lambs are young so just want back to mum - I wonder if sheeted hurdles for the forcing pen would be better
It worked fine though, once I made the dosing race and forcing pen, it wasn't really for holding many more than the 70 something ewes and 120 lambs... I'd think 100 with lambs would be its limit. Definitely think l'll buy more hurdles to make it bigger, but I'll plug on as it is this year and get them in the autumn or winter

It might sound arse about face but park the race about 30ft or so from the fence and make a funnel with a few hurdles and get them in at the front of the race and make a pen behind they'll think theyre escaping and you can get a lot more in, if you've got a good fence to work with its a doddle
It does make them easier to get in the pens they dont turn on you as much and it makes the most use of the fence which is cheaper than hurdles with a big lotDid wonder about doing that with bigger lots. That's the first time I've used it and I'm still learning.
on my alligator race i have sheeted the drafting gates as i found the lambs hesitating as they passed ewes out to the side,it seems to focus them more on going forwardDrum roll please !...
